Jacob Kolasch’s Writing.

Poetry and Fiction

In his poetry, he works to capture the awkwardness of life, the different types of hauntings, and mental health. Emotion is a vital piece of poetry. He would argue that it’s probably the main ingredient. He works to evoke emotions and to write in emotions. It’s not the meaning he has in the poem that’s important: it’s what you as the reader understands the meaning to be.

In his fiction, he tends toward speculative fiction, primarily in science fiction and fantasy. Elements of magical realism can blend in as well. Jacob works to blur the lines between literary, science fiction, and fantasy, writing predominantly character driven pieces that happen to take place in certain settings.

He has written more short fiction than long form, but has been working on a book for the past several years.
