Works in progress.
These are the long form fiction projects I’m working on. Some of these might one day grow up to be books. Some might not.
The Fall of New Brooklyn.
A novel I’ve been writing off and on for awhile. I’ll be sharing what I’ve already written (and hopefully get caught up with new chapters by the time I’ve shared what I have). This is still a first draft. As I share new chapters, I’ll be updating as I complete them. You’ll get to read and follow along as The Fall of New Brooklyn is written.
Once complete, I will work on revisions. I’ve already taken notes for future revisions, but that is not the focus at this time. Right now, I’m working towards a complete first draft. Enjoy the journey!
It’s a modern fantasy- magic exists in the modern world, alongside traditional technology.
Magic is powered by the soul, and an enemy (long thought extinct) has returned, remnants of magic users who had used too much power and paid with their soul.

Rise, Rise.
Rise, Rise is the first short novel (novella) that I wrote. I wrote it during college (my undergrad years). And, to be quite honest, I haven’t really touched it since. It’s still very much a first draft.
It’s a project I have every intention of working through and revising and editing. I’ve got several ideas on what I’d like to do, but I haven’t settled on a firm direction yet. It’s entirely possible as start revising (or rewriting) that large portions (or even the entire story) change.
However, there is some pride in this being the first long form fiction piece that I ever completed. There’s a nice sense of accomplishment in that. Just know that when I do begin revisions, the story as you can read it will likely change, dramatically.
Rise, Rise is a modern fantasy, taking place in a modern day setting. In it, I reimagine what a phoenix could be. It’s a story about a man that realizes his true power and purpose alongside a powerful dryad he has know and loved for essentially eternity. He battles vampires and demons, and before long, is embroiled in an all out supernatural war that spills into the city streets.

The One Hundred Fears of Brandon Jacobus.
This is a brand new project that is still getting off the ground.
I have an idea of what I want this to be, but it’s still in early concept, planning, and writing stages. When I first had this idea, it arose solely from a name that popped into my head that seemed “wizardly.” Since then, I’ve been mulling the character over in my head. He goes on adventures with a magic tobacco pipe and a grumpy spellbook.
Initially the idea was a sort of children’s book. I think it has moved beyond that, but at this stage, who can say? The first draft that will get shared here will likely be more of a traditional novel.
